INTERVIEWS:
NON-FICTION STORIES
The Dream Makers Project
July 2012 - CURRENT
I seek out people who are living self-directed lives. I think it's important to dream, plot, and plan. But it's also important to refer to examples for guidance and encouragement. Even if you don't have access to mentors directly, I really recommend that you seek out examples of individuals who are doing what you aspire to do. The internet is a useful tool in researching articles about these mentors and sometimes contact information if you'd like to brave an interview with them. For some of us, there's mentors among our friends and family :-)
I recommend looking up strong folks who exemplify what you are striving for whether to become an artist or career person or business owner or resilient person. In order to make progress or change, it's helpful to expand the company you keep. Replace the naysayers with positive people.
I believe that we can make contributions to our own success and peace of mind, and I will be interviewing leaders who demonstrate this philosophy. The Dream Makers Project is my attempt to put my money where my mouth is. I'm searching for individuals who practice dream-making: 1) professionals, 2) business owners, 3) self-employed artists, and 4) resilient people.
Thus far, I've interviewed:
Self-Employed Artist - John Tunui
One-Woman Operation - Kettlepot Soap business owner, Pam
World Traveler - Miss Klykii
Polynesian Business - Tiare' Blooms
A New Mother - Tallulah
Upstanding Leader - B.J.
Attorney at Law - 'Isi Mataele
More interviews on their way soon...
